  • Backyard chickens are allowed in residential areas of the city with some restrictions.
  • Residents are allowed to keep up to four hens, and roosters are prohibited.
  • The chickens must be kept in a secure coop or enclosure at all times.
  • The coop or enclosure must be located at least 25 feet from the nearest residence on an adjacent property.
  • The enclosure must be at least 4 feet from any property line and 10 feet from any public right-of-way.
  • Chicken waste must be managed to prevent odors and must not create a public health nuisance.
  • The sale of eggs produced by backyard chickens is allowed, but only if the sale takes place on the premises where the chickens are kept.
