  • Number of Hens: In residential lots of at least 10,000 square feet, a maximum of eight (8) hens are allowed. Hens and their eggs cannot be sold or advertised for sale.
  • Permissible Rooster Keeping: Roosters can be kept in a residentially zoned parcel of land that is five (5) acres or larger.
  • Chicken Coop Requirements: A single chicken coop should be located within or adjacent to the fenced area, meeting the following specifications:
    • Has walls constructed of wood or metal under six (6) feet in height.
    • Provides a minimum of four (4) square feet per animal kept.
    • Does not exceed one hundred (100) square feet in area and is located in the rear yard.
  • Secure Enclosure: Hens must be confined in a fenced enclosure that:
    • Is constructed of wire mesh, wire grid, or chicken wire.
    • Is six (6) feet or shorter in height.
    • Provides a minimum of ten (10) square feet per hen.
    • Is located entirely in the rear yard of the residence.
  • Slaughtering Prohibition: Chickens cannot be slaughtered on the property under any circumstances.
