  • Maximum Number of Chickens: You can keep a maximum of 8 domestic fowl at your residence. However, only 1 of these chickens may be a rooster.
  • Coop and Run Size: The coop and run where your chickens are kept must meet specific size requirements. It must be at least 24 square feet or provide at least 6 square feet of space per fowl, whichever is larger.
  • Nuisance: Keeping your domestic fowl housed or confined is essential to prevent them from causing a nuisance. This means they must be kept clean and quiet, and their living conditions must not attract pests.
  • Distance from Other Properties: To ensure harmony with neighboring properties, your coop and run must be kept at least 50 feet away from any business or dwelling occupied by people other than the owner.
  • Roosters: If you have obtained excess animal permits, you can have a maximum of 1 rooster for every 10 authorized domestic fowl.
  • Roaming: You can allow up to 8 fowl to roam temporarily outside the coop and run. However, they must remain within an enclosed area on the owner’s real property boundaries and only between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
