Embark on the adventure of raising chickens in Fort Worth while being well-versed in the essential rules and regulations to thrive in poultry farming.

  • Properties one acre or larger: You can keep up to 50 fowl, with a maximum of two roosters. All fowl must be kept in a coop or pen.
  • Properties one-half acre or smaller: You can keep up to 12 fowl, including a maximum of two roosters. All fowl must be kept in a coop or pen.
  • Properties larger than one-half acre but less than one acre: You can keep up to 25 fowl, with a limit of two roosters. 
  • All fowl must be kept in a coop or pen.
  • Chickens must be kept at least 50 feet from regulated structures, such as schools, hospitals, and other public buildings.
  • Important Note: For more specific regulations regarding chicken coops, it is advisable to check with the local authorities.
