  • Up to three chickens are allowed without a permit on residential lots that are at least 2,500 square feet.
  • Roosters are not allowed unless the property is zoned for agriculture.
  • Chickens must be kept in a secure coop at night and in a fenced outdoor area during the day.
  • Coops and outdoor areas must be set back at least 15 feet from neighboring properties.
  • Chickens must be kept in sanitary conditions, with manure regularly removed and properly disposed of.
  • Slaughtering chickens is allowed on-site for personal use, but not for sale.
  • Chicken feed must be stored in rodent-proof containers to avoid attracting pests.
