  • Number of Chickens: Residents can keep up to 6 domestic chickens.
  • Property Size and Setback Requirement: The property must be at least 1/2 acre in size, and structures and fenced areas must be located in side or rear yards and set back a minimum of 20 feet from property lines.
  • Rooster Prohibition: Roosters are not permitted to be kept.
  • Structures and Fenced Areas: Chickens must be kept within structures and fenced areas that provide at least 3 square feet of space per hen.
  • Personal Use and Resident Owner: Chickens must be kept for personal use only, and the property owner must be a resident of a dwelling unit on the lot where the chickens are kept.
  • Sanitary Conditions and Neighbor Considerations: Henhouses and fenced areas must be kept in a neat and sanitary condition, and they must not disturb the use or enjoyment of neighboring lots due to noise, odor, or other adverse impacts.
  • Manure Composting and Storage Limit: All stored manure must be composted in a fully enclosed structure or container, and no more than 3 cubic feet of composting manure may be stored on the involved lot.
