  • Number of chickens: You can keep up to two (2) chickens without a permit. If you want to keep more than two chickens, you need to get a permit from the chief of police and animal officer.
  • Enclosure: Chickens must be kept in an enclosed area that is at least three hundred (300) feet away from any adjoining property line. The enclosure must be at least six (6) feet in height and securely enclosed and locked. It must also have secure sides, top, and bottom, and be designed to prevent the animals from escaping.

  • Cleanliness: The premises on which any chickens are raised within the city limits must be kept in a clean and sanitary condition.
